The Model Home at Schoolhouse Landing
The Andrew model at Schoolhouse Landing in East Granby has been named the 2000-3000 SF Single Family House of the Year in the 2006 HOBI judging sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Connecticut. The award will be presented at the HOBI awards dinner on October 18, 2006.
The model home at Schoolhouse Landing is the Andrew design. This home features a first floor master bedroom. There is an extended arch window above the leaded glass front door in the two story entrance foyer. A turned staircase leads up from the foyer to the second floor where there are 2 additional bedrooms, a loft, a sitting area and a huge bonus room measuring over 17' x 17'. The two story tall living room is very bright with a glass door plus 7 windows including 3 with circle tops.

from Libby's Torrington Furniture.
Pictured above is the rear and left side of the Andrew model
home at Schoolhouse Landing in East Granby. The sliding
glass doors lead to the finished basement level which has a wet bar, a second
fireplace and a full bath. The first floor master bath has an
Aker whirlpool tub with a twin casement window above. Above the
casement window is a Hy-Lite acrylic glass block transom window. There is
another acrylic glass block window above the oversized shower with two seats.
There is a television concealed behind the bathroom two way mirror above the
double vanity.
Shown above is the view looking from the rear deck at the see-through indoor/outdoor Heat & Glo Twilight fireplace.
T & M won a 2005 HOBI award from the Home Builders Association of Connecticut
for this fireplace which was named best indoor/outdoor feature.
The Twilight fireplace was spotlighted in Connecticut Builder magazine.
The kitchen with granite countertops is shown in the 2 photos
below. The sink is on the island. The GE Profile appliances are from Contractors
Home Appliances.
Pictured above is the pot filler faucet above the range. This Moen faucet eliminates the need to carry large
pots filled with water from the sink to the range.
The photo above shows the optional wine bar on the first
floor.
Pictured above is the second floor bonus room. The
railings overlook the living room below. The photo below shows the living
room as seen looking down.
The photo above shows the upstairs bedroom with optional tray
ceiling.
Shown above is the third bedroom which has sloped walls where
skylights can be placed.

The 3 photos above show the finished walk out basement area in
the model which a gas fireplace with television alcove above, sliding glass
doors and a wet bar. Directions from
Hartford: Take Route 91 North and take exit 40 (the Bradley International
Airport connector) onto Rte. 20 west. Follow Route 20 and take a right
hand exit staying on Rte. 20 to avoid ending up at the airport. Go
through 4 traffic lights and just past a shopping plaza with the "Peak
Fitness" exercise facility take a left turn onto School Street.
Proceed on School Street for about a quarter mile to Schoolhouse Landing on
the left. When you enter Schoolhouse Landing the model home will
