The house is 2714 square feet. It is a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath colonial sitting on a lot that is approximately half an acre. Highlights include front and back staircases, a computer loft, a solarium, and a family room set up by Safe & Sound Home Technologies as a home theater with surround sound. Also there is a satellite dish capable of allowing both direct tv and high speed internet access, a remote control operated whole house audio system including outdoor speakers which look like hanging flower planters, and a home automation system which will permit someone to call from a telephone to monitor and control items such as the HVAC and security systems in the house.

Annaheim Decorating handled the interior decorating for this fully furnished home. Furnishings were selected from various stores including Domain, Filenes, Pier 1, Wayside, Raymour & Flanigan, and Puritan.

The model home kitchen is truly a gourmet's delight.Solid surface Corian countertops rest atop the caramel colored raised panel maple door cabinets. The upper cabinets are 42" tall and feature cathedral top doors. An optional glass mullion door is in the corner above the lazy susan. These upgraded cabinets are built by Homecrest and called Stratton Cathedral Caramel. The sink is made of Corian and has an upgraded faucet. Appliances include a stainless steel professional style natural gas 30" Viking range with matching Viking hood. There is an Architect Series Kitchen Aid stainless steel dishwasher and a 24 cubic foot refrigerator with stainless steel doors from the Frigidaire Gallery collection. The kitchen floor is tiled.

Glass sliding doors lead from the solarium to the back deck which features a luxurious gas heated hot tub. This 5 person Concord model by Thermo Spas is manufactured in Wallingford. Also on the deck are a natural gas grill, a natural gas radiant heater, and natural gas torch lights. The deck steps down to a patio which has a Heat-N-Glo natural gas campfire.

T & M has worked with Yankee Gas to design the home to fit within the guidelines of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Homes Program. The following products add to ther energy efficiency of this model: 1.) Heil 90% efficient natural gas direct vent furnace. ( This type of furnace is used on other homes at Wallingford Chase if the homes have forced air heat) 2.) Heil 12 SEER air conditioner rather than the less efficient 10 SEER which is typically used. 3.) Rheem natural gas power vent hot water heater (this type of hot water heater is used on othe Wallingford Chase homes where there is a direct vent furnace) wrapped with an insulation blanket. 4.) Programmable thermostats. 5.) Insulation around HVAC ductwork in unconditioned spaces (i.e. the basement and attic). 6.) 12 inch R-38 insulation in the attic.( this is standard in attics above flat ceilings at Wallingford Chase.) 7.) R-13 fiberglass batt insulation in the exterior walls. ( standard at Wallingford Chase except when R-19 is used in 2x6 walls.) 8.) An additional R3.6 rigid board insulation installed behind the sheet rock in the exterior walls. (standard at Wallingford Chase over most R-13 insulation). 9.) Insulation in the basement ceiling. ( this is standard in other homes at Wallingford Chase ) 10.) Low E insulated glass double hung windows. 11.) Velux insulated glass skylights in the breakfast nook and master bath. The nook skylights have electric pleated shades which can be opened and closed using a remote control.

In addition to the items included in the Energy Star calculations the house is scheduled to have these additional natural gas products: 1.) Frigidaire natural gas dryer installed under a counter with a companion front loading washer. 2.) Heat N Glo remote controlled direct vent natural gas fireplace. The lack of a chimney is highlighted by the 43" inch television built in above the fireplace. 3.) Heatway radiant floor heating under the master bath tile floor. The hot water traveling through the hoses is heated by natural gas in the basement in the same manner as the water which travels through 4.) the Myson gold plated towel warmer. 5.) natural gas range 6.) natural gas basement heater

Plans have not yet finalized for which of the following outside items to include: 1.) U.S. Gaslight natural gas post light in the front yard 2.) natural gas back-up generator for when the power and is out 3.) natural gas vehicle refueling equipment.

The model has four other styles of Homecrest cabinetry. The master bath has the white raised panel Paragon upgrade and the main bath has the standard oak door, Summerfield Natural. The computer loft has an optional desk made of Brighton cabinets with natural maple doors. The laundry room has optional Vista white cabinetry.
